For this project, I was tasked with creating a promotional poster for a new edition of the book ‘The Handmaid’s Tale’.

I wanted the consumer to feel uncomfortable when they looked at the poster, due to the oppressive themes of the book, showing it isnt just a piece of entertainment.

I combined acrylic painting with digital to allow for that ‘traditional’ look and more extreme contrast. Playing into the contrast of traditional values and the oppression the woman faces.
